Dorie
Dorie is an actress, a screenwriter, and has been a script consultant for over a dozen years. She has worked in the story departments of major studios and production companies, and works in development for independent producers. She also loves to work directly with writers, helping them make the most of their material before it gets to the "reader". Her favorite movie of all time is "Die
Hard", and she has a soft spot for 80's romantic comedy and noir thrillers of all decades. With her background as an actress, character development is in her heart, but her virgo right-brain specializes in analyzing screen structure.
David
David
has worked as a story analyst for several agencies in L.A. where
his duties included finding and nurturing suitable projects for
a roster of A-list clients. Currently he is pursuing
screenwriting and has 2 scripts in active development with major
studios and interest in a number of other projects. He lists his
favorite films as Lawrence of Arabia, Chinatown, and Wings of
Desire.
Beatrice
Beatrice was a journalist in a former life who worked for People Magazine and CNN before landing at Pixar Animation in development. At Pixar she worked on such movies as Finding Nemo, Ratatouille and Cars. She has an MFA in Film from UCLA and worked for NewMarket Films and Raygun Productions (Memento, Whalerider, Donnie Darko, Monster) for producer Aaron Ryder. While at Raygun, they produced such films as The Prestige, Hamlet 2, The TV Set and the upcoming My One and Only with Renee Zellweger. She is currently the Production Executive at FilmNation, a newly formed production and foreign sales company.
John
John graduated from NYU with a degree in film and has worked under several prominent independent producers in Los Angeles and New York. He has read for Benderspink and many other production companies in Hollywood. John enjoys scripts that employ strong fundamentals, but innovate on story and style. His favorite filmmakers include Tom Tykwer, Woody Allen, Alan Ball, and David Fincher.
Nathan
Nate graduated from the Park School of Communications at Ithaca College with a degree in Screenwriting and has worked in both Los Angeles and New York City at production companies, management agencies, and distribution companies. He asserts that the two best screenplays of all time are Paddy Chayefsky’s Network and Robert Towne’s Chinatown. When reading a screenplay, he looks for compelling, developed characters and a well thought out story. "Hollywood rarely does anything original anymore, it’s about how you can put a spin on an old idea and make it unique".
Don
Don
began his screenwriting education with a two week seminar taught
by Syd Field, at the 1987 Maine Photographic Workshops. Don went
on to earn his BA in Folklore from U.C. Berkeley as well as an
MFA in Screenwriting from the University of Southern California.
Don won the Action-Adventure genre award at the Screenwriter’s Expo3 AAA Screenwriting
contest and has several projects in development. Don is
currently working on various writing assignments and is
polishing his latest script with former mentor and writing
partner Dan O’Bannon (Alien, Total Recall). Don
has a passion for all genres, with a special love for
Action-Adventure, Thriller, Horror, and Science Fiction.
James
J ames is currently involved in script development and project financing for Goldcrest Films and Triboro
Pictures in New York. His list of favorite films covers a broad
spectrum of genres, and he agrees with Richard Walter's theory
that all movies fall into one of two categories: good or bad. He
believes that with proper care and commitment, though, any story
can be molded into a great script
